Our Enemies Across the Sea

Nearly two thousand years ago, the Founder Ymir made a deal with the devil. From this deal, the powers of the Titans were given to the Eldian people, thus creating the brutal Eldian Empire which would pillage, oppress, and subjugate the world and the nation of Marley for millennia. Now after a hundred years of renouncing war, the Eldian people remain a shadow of their former empire, exiled to a distant island with their bloody history wiped from their memories; despite this, the world has not forgotten who they are nor their ancestors' sins. In recent times, the Marleyan Empire has sought to undermine the Eldians’ century of peace for island’s natural resources and the powers of their titans, resulting in actions that have killed thousands. Following a costly battle, resulting in the near destruction of both sides’ forces, both sides have come to a realization: there shall be no negotiations or appeasements. They must rebuild and prepare for total war, or be wiped out by their ancient enemies across the sea.
